Educational Visits

Year 1 - Souter Lighthouse

This term, Year 1 linked their Autumn Term Science topic, Animals Including Humans, and their current Geography topic, All at Sea, with an exciting visit to Souter Lighthouse. During the trip, pupils took part in rock-pooling, where they explored the shoreline and learned how to identify a variety of sea creatures.

The children also enjoyed a tour of Souter Lighthouse, climbing 76 steps to the top of the tower. From there, they observed and discussed different human and physical features in the surrounding landscape, further deepening their understanding through a real-life experience.
